Merel van den Berg is a PhD candidate in the Interaction Design group of the University of Twente. With a Master’s degree in Human Computer Interaction, she is specialized in human-centered design of IT applications. She is particularly interested in technology designed to assist individuals in managing their physical and mental health. Within the Stress in Action consortium, she aims to establish standards for responsible design and selection of wearables and apps used for stress monitoring and interventions. Her research covers user acceptance, user values, and user diversity.

Research question

“How can we establish standards for responsible design of technology for stress monitoring and interventions?”

Abstract

My project contributes to user-centered research on technology for stress monitoring and interventions. By considering user acceptance and values, I aim to establish guidelines for responsible design.
