Lucas Assen is a PhD candidate in the department of Learning, Data Analytics and Technology at the University of Twente, with a core interest in what multimodal physiological signals (EDA, EMG, EEG, and ECG) reveal about individuals’ internal states. He holds a master’s in Human Factors and Engineering (Cognition) Psychology, during which he examined EEG alpha and theta dynamics as markers of meditative states. For the Stress in Action project, his research is focused on the multimodal temporal modelling of ambulatory physiological, behavioural, and ecological momentary assessment data to capture how stress dynamics unfold within individuals.
