Veerle Zijleman is a PhD candidate at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, working within the department of Biological Psychology and the Stress in Action consortium. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Research Master’s degree in Clinical and Health Psychology from Leiden University.

Her research will focus on individual differences in stress responses, using twin models to investigate why individuals differ in their responses to stress and how genetic and environmental factors contribute to these differences. Using longitudinal twin models, she aims to examine the dynamic interplay between genetic, environmental, and individual characteristics in shaping stress responses over time.
